Poetry and Art Pair Perfectly in Ekphrastic Event
ECPP is proud to partner with artist April Rimpo to create ekphrastic poems inspired by her artwork for a unique event on April 1, 2023. The fundraiser will raise money for ECPP, Maryland Foodbank, and the Poor People’s Campaign. Both the paintings and the poetry will be on display. A silent auction of the artwork and readings from participating poets will round out the afternoon.
Books will be available for purchase, including Portraits of Life: An Ekphrastic Anthology. The anthology is the result of an event sponsored by ECPP at a similar joint exhibition in November 2022. Participants at that event shared how powerful and emotional it was to work in response to the compelling art of Rimpo and fellow artist Elaine Weiner-Reed. This event promises to be just as moving.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 1 at the RE/Max Advantage Realty building, 1393 Progress Way
Suite 901, in Eldersburg. For more information or to RSVP, contact Patti Ross at par.media1@gmail.com.
