Format Change Transforms Reading Series into a Community of Learning

The popular Third Thursday Open Mic at the Catonsville Clubhouse is taking on a new direction that promises to create a unique environment where writers can work on all aspects of their craft. The event is hosted by ECPP member Patti Ross and sponsored by the Baltimore County Arts Guild.

The 2023 schedule of events will transform the monthly reading into a poetry and prose workshop, giving participants opportunities to write, critique, and perform their work. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome. The group is committed to providing a safe and encouraging environment for participants to explore their creations.

Each quarter of the year, the group will offer two workshops, a time to write and to share, and an informal open reading where writers can practice their presentation skills. In the third month, a more formal reading will be held, with a featured reader and an open mic afterward.

The group meets on the third Thursday each month at the Catonsville Clubhouse, 10 St. Timothys Lane. For more information, visit the BCGA events page at bcartguild.org.
