Zorina Exie Frey Wins Pushcart Prize
It’s great to get the opportunity to laud one of our ECPP writers, so I’m thrilled to congratulate Zorina Exie Frey on winning a Pushcart Prize for her poem, “Pee is for Prejudice.” The poem traces a history of experiences wherein the simple act of needing to handle biological functions outlines the differences in the “rules” for white Americans versus people of color. It’s a reminder that not all prejudices hit you over the head. Here’s a great article from Rowan University, whose journal glassworks published “Pee is for Prejudice,” https://today.rowan.edu/news/2023/06/published-in-glassworks,-poem-wins-prestigious-pushcart-prize.html.
