Events will now run from 1:00-2:30 pm. \nRobert’s bio: \nMy name is Robert Jenner and I received my Ph.D. in History from the University of Maryland in 1995 specializing in Diplomatic and Modern U.S. History. I hold an MA from the University of Chicago and a BA from American University. I taught for 10 years and then worked in documentary film. My first book\, “FDR’s Republicans”\, was published in 2011. I have been a professional lecturer for the last 10 years and my most recent book is a compilation of those lectures and titled: “25 Short Histories of Interesting People\, Places and Things.” \nRobert Jenner

SUMMARY:Salon Series at Oca Mocha - Laura Shovan
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a new Salon series every second Sunday at Oca Mocha Cafe. Our guest for February is Laura Shovan. Laura Shovan is a novelist\, educator\, and Pushcart Prize-nominated poet. Her work appears in journals and anthologies for children and adults. Laura’s award-winning middle grade novels include The Last Fifth Grade of Emerson Elementary\, Takedown\, and the Sydney Taylor Notable A Place at the Table\, written with Saadia Faruqi. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (BFA Dramatic Writing) and Montclair State University (Master of Arts\, Teaching)\, Laura is a longtime poet-in-the-schools for the Maryland State Arts Council.
